thought I would add to this just a bit. I made all the baby food my son ate. A really great resource to help is called "Super Baby Food" book! it really has a lot of good ideas for getting your babies off to a really healthy start and how to attack it, how to store it, etc. AWESOME and so worth it in so many ways -- health, money, etc.
