Free Shoes at Payless?

My fabulous friend, Christine at Lavish Living 4 Less reported that there may be free shoes at PayLess! Go here to print out a get $10 off any Champion fitness shoe. There may be clearanced shoes at your Payless for $10 - that makes free shoes!!

Where have I been?

Very long story short - I quit my job. I struggled with the decision, but in the end I couldn't be away from my baby every day. After a long fertility struggle, I just felt that she might be the only chance I get to have children and I wanted to be there to watch and delight in every milestone, growth, development and smile.
Now you can really join me try and stretch a very tight budget and watch my baby grow. Her first birthday is in six weeks and the time has really flown so much!
Thank you for coming back to read this and I hope that I will see much more of all of you!

Safeway.com deal!

Here is the deal - I wanted to start off my welcome back with a smokin' deal!

Step one - sign up through ebates or shop at home (I prefer ebates). When you sign up you will get a $5 bonus when you shop through one of these sites. Then go to Safeway.com on either of them so when you buy this you will get their cash back $5 from Ebates and $9 from Shop at Home.

Step two - go to Safeway.com through ebates or shop at home and click grocery delivery.

Step three - On the left of the page, click where it says Buy One, Get One Free and choose $47 worth of  BOGO items
(I chose two ground beefs, two sausages and two bags of salad)

Step four - add water to your cart by going to: shop by isle, then beverages, then sort ZtoA, then chose the first item of Refresh 24 pack.

Begin the check out process

Step five - add these codes VALPAK15 (for $15 off), refreshe24 (for $5 off) and EASY7 (for free shipping)

Then chose your delivery time. Pick what ever time you want because it's free. The discounts will all come off when your groceries are delivered to you, so don't be confused when  you get your email and it doesn't look as though all of your discounts are there. When you get your receipt at delivery you will see your out of pocket.

The only thing that stinks is that the meat prices are an estimate because they can't guarantee that they will get you that exact size of meat. But just do your best to get as close as humanly possible to $47 worth of meat (even a little under) because you want your total to be $50 when you're done.

I hope this all makes sense!! Please let me know if you have any questions.

I got approx 7 lbs of ground beef, 24 bottles of water, 2 packages of sausage and 2 bags of salad for a little over $6! But when I get my $5 from ebates - it's only about $1! $1!! Told you I would come back with a great deal! This is a perfect time to stock up on meat! There is BOGO chicken, beef, ground beef, etc. Have fun!

Throwing in the towel

I am sad to say that I won't be keeping up the blog. I had to return to work and don't have time for both. I feel like I failed as a couponer, bargain shopper and frugal liver because I couldn't figure out how to stay at home with my baby. Thank you to everyone that supported me in my efforts.

Yesterday I told you about the Manufacturer coupons listed on the back of the Albertsons Ad. (Northwest deals) One of them is a coupon for $1.00 off a 40 oz Heinz Ketchup. Yes it does have the Albertsons logo, but it also says Manufacturer coupon on the top, so it will scan and the store can redeem for the $1 ( which means Walmart will get paid for the coupon)
It just happens that Heinz Ketchup (40oz) is on Rollback for $1.00

You can use the $1.00 coupon and get it FREE!

Sorry I haven't posted!!

I've been sick...

And there wasn't a lot of good deals. I did some of the diaper deals and I'm frustrated with Fred Meyer and considering just taking my diapers back, but we'll see. I made sure I used my Albertsons doubles tonight before they expired and did some money makers to help pay for my groceries. At Safeway I did my final Classico deal, cat litter and some Arm and Hammer laundry detergents. Not awesome deals over all, but I was out of cat little and laundry detergent, so I was happy to not just pay sale price.

I'm hoping for a better week, but the ads looked a little weak again, so we'll see.

Menu Making

So my May challenge has went south... there was just too much going on, but here is my menu for the week.

Sunday - Salmon Pasta
Monday - White Bean Chicken Chili
Tuesday - Freezer Food (I have premade meals in the freezer - this means just pop one our in the morning)
Wednesday - Tamale Casserole
Thursday - Coconut Chicken Curry
Friday - Whole Roasted Chicken
Saturday - Spaghetti
Sunday - Salmon
Monday - Meatball Subs

The only items I will need to make this menu are:
Onions
Bell Peppers
Spinach
Provalone Cheese
I lied... I also need:
Coconut Milk
Tomato Paste
Tomato Sauce

Techincally - that is all I would need at the grocery store, but there are too many good deals, so that won't be the case! :-)

Shopping Trip Yesterday

I had a great shopping day yesterday! I went to Target and Safeway and did two transactions each. I spent $29.85

It went a little something like this....

Target Transaction #1
4 Schick Hydro 3 Razor Cartridge Refills $7.49 each
then 4 $5 off coupons
and 4 $1 off Target coupons
-this produced 2 $5 off gift cards
Total Spent - $7.44

Target Transaction #2
A&D Diaper Cream $3.94
2 each J&J Baby Wash
Enfamil Restful $13.29
Giraff Limbo game $3.14 (on clearance)
2 each Enfamil Gentlease $22.99 each
Subtotal - $50.98

Used:
A&D Target coupon $2
A&D Printable $1
J&J Target coupon $.75 off each
J&J coupon for $1 each
Enfamil Coupon $3 each (for larger ones)
5 each $5 Enfamil Rebate Checks
4 each $5 gift cards (from razor transactions)
And I received a $5 gift card to use later... I'm thinking more formula!

Safeway Transaction #1
Scrubbing Bubbles $6.99 each
2 each $5 off coupons
Balance (with tax) $5.28
Gift card balance -$2.34
My total out of pocket $2.94
Received 2 $3 catalinas

Safeway Transaction #2
6 jars of Classico Pasta 2 for $4
6 boxes of pasta $.99 each
4 boxes Nabisco 100 calorie snacks

Used:
3 $1.50 off of 2 jars of Classico
Pasta free when you buy Classico promotion
2 BOGO Nabisco coupons
2 $3 catalinas from previous transaction
Total $5.50 and recieved a $3 cat from the 100 calorie packs

Now... you're not going to need formula - I hope, man it's expensive! So you need to figure out your family's needs. This is my family's needs, so I hunt for coupons and discounts that work for us - and you need to do the same for you! You can score deals like this, you just need to look and be aware. I busted my budget on the formula because they're producing a $5 gift card that I can roll into more formula and there are coupons that expire this month. BUT... this frees up my budget later this month for other items that we need or want. I hope this helps you in your budget thought process.

Get Ready For Canning Season!

One of the best ways to live frugally is to take advantage of items when they're on sale and store them for later. This can be more difficult with fruits and veggies, but with freezing and canning it's possible to take advantage of the summer's bounty!
Right now Fred Meyer is running a decent deal to begin thinking about canning season.
This is the time to think about Christmas presents too. One year I made strawberry topping for pancakes, waffles or whatever and made people breakfast baskets. Or you can do a basket with home made jams and breads. Start getting creative! Who wouldn't love a taste of summer in the middle of winter?

MCP and Sure-Jell Pectin on sale $2
Buy 4 boxes = $8
Buy (2) 5 lb bags of FM Sugar ($2.39 each) = $4.78
Use (2) “$2 off sugar when you buy 2 boxes of pectin” tearpad coupons at FM (-$4)

Post your homemade Christmas ideas!

Thanks, Frugal Living NW!

Don't Forget Your Starbucks!
